Buffy headcanon: Spike cheats at poker with the demons because he doesn’t want them to eat the kittens. He has a room of kittens somewhere in his lair and he plays with them when he gets too angry but can’t take out his frustration on humans because the cute calms him down. But he would never tell anyone how much he loves kittens because, well, come on.
